Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I have to have a jogging stroller?

No, any type of sturdy stroller is fine for the class. We do not recommend umbrella strollers. If you are going to be doing any jogging, we do recommend a jogging stroller. A lot of moms use the infant carseat strapped in to a stroller until their little ones are 6 months old.

How old do the babies have to be to attend class?

We welcome babies from 6 weeks and up- and that is really more for moms benefit. We want to make sure that mom has had plenty of time to recover after labor and delivery. As soon as your doctor gives you the ok to exercise again- usually at your 6 week checkup- you are welcome to attend classes.

How old is too old for the kiddos?

All stroller age children are welcome to attend class! We’ve had children as old as 7 attend. As long as they fit in a seat in your stroller, you are good to go. All children must have a seat in a stroller to attend class.

What if my baby cries?

No worries! Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre is a safe place! If your little one cries, you can stop your workout, take care of what you need to, and then join us again. You do not need to worry that they are bothering anyone else, because they aren’t! We’ve all been there.

What if I have to feed my baby or change a diaper?

Again, no worries! Just stop, take care of what you need to, and come back and join us when you are ready.

I haven't worked out since having my baby, will I be able to keep up?

Absolutely! All of our classes are designed for all different levels of fitness. We offer modifications and challenges for everything, so you just worry about doing what feels right for you. We’ve got moms who have been coming for years, and moms who are working out for the first time in their life- Fit4Mom is a non-competitive, non-judgmental, safe place for all.

Do I need to register ahead of time?

We do ask that everyone sign up online ahead of time before the first preview class- this saves time before class and helps your instructor be able to run class more smoothly. After your first class, you DO NOT need to preregister for Stroller Strides.

Body Back 8-week session is offered in sessions and must be registered ahead of time.

I work during the day, what do you have for working moms?

We offer Body Back class sessions on the weekends and evenings. Working moms have had great success with these programs! Check out the PROGRAMS tab. We currently do not offer any stroller fitness classes on the weekends or evenings.

When can I try Body Back?

We recommend that you be at least 5 months post-partum before trying out the Body Back classes. These classes are taught at a higher intensity than Stroller Strides. The first 5 months is about surviving!

Why should I do Stroller Strides vs. Joining a Gym?

First thing to know is we are not a gym! Stroller Strides allows you to get a great workout with your children in tow. Not only are you getting prenatal and postnatal fitness instruction from certified instructors, you are showing your kids how fun exercise can be! The kids are included in the workouts and are seeing their moms as positive role models. In return, as a mom, you are getting out of the house, getting a great workout and socializing with other moms, all of which helps to improve your mental health and well being! What gym can offer this kind of a great program?

Stroller Strides also includes complementary organized playgroups and mom night outs. This is an open and welcoming program to any mom who wants it!
